Trimox (Amoxicillin) is an antibiotic from the
penicillin group to fight against different types of infections caused by
bacteria. It may also
be used to prevent certain bacterial infections. But Trimox
(Amoxicillin) will not work for viral infections (cold, flu). Be careful: if you use antibiotic when it is not
needed it can be useless future
infections.
Indication for use
Trimox (Amoxicillin) can be taken by almost all adults and children
over 2 who have :

sinusitis, otitis, tonsillitis,
pharyngitis, angina;
·
acute and chronic bronchitis, pneumonia;
·
cystitis,
prostatitis, urethritis, pyelonephritis, acute uncomplicated gonorrhea and
others;
·
skin and soft tissues
infection;
·
cholecystitis,
cholangitis;
·
bones and joints
infections;
Precautions
Trimox (Amoxicillin) is not recommended to use if you have: hypersensitivity to some of this
medication components; allergy to antibiotics of penicillin and cephalosporin
series (cross-allergy); infectious mononucleosis, lymphocytic leukemia. In case
of pregnancy or breast-feeding you have to consult with your doctor.
Dose and usage
Dose of Trimox (Amoxicillin) : 250mg, 500 mg – white, round, flat tablets.
Before taking this
medication consult with your attending physician.
For children from 2
to 5 years (with a body weight of 10 – 20 kg) – 125 – 250 mg 3 times a day;
from 5 to 10 years (with a body weight of 20 – 40 kg) – 250 – 500 mg 3 times a day.
The average daily dose for children aged 2 to 10 years is 20 – 40 mg / kg body
weight per day for three doses.
Adults and children
over 10 years (with a body weight over 40 kg) – 500 mg each3 times a day; in
the case of severe course, the dose is increased to 1 g 3 times a day. The
maximum daily dose is 6 g.
Duration of treatment
– from 5 to 14 days, the use of the medication should be continued for at least
2-3 days after the disappearance of symptoms of the disease.
Side
effects
As any others medications Trimox
(Amoxicillin) can have in
some cases side effects such as: diarrhea, skin ulcers, symptoms of a cold or flu,
cough, shortness of breath, swollen glands, rash or itching, joint pain, or a
general bad feeling, stomach ache, nausea, vomiting, vaginal itching or
discharge, headache.
Tell
your doctor if you have some side effects or your condition worsens.
