Ditropan
also has several other names – Oxybutynin, Ditropan XL, Urotrol.
This pill
looks like a white crystalline mass. It is easily soluble in acid, water and
very little in alkali. The package consists of a set of 5 mg tablets. Every pill
contains indigo carmine (E132), safe cellulose, lactose, and also calcium
stearate.
Ditropan is
a medicine used to reduce muscle cramps or problems with the urinary tract and
diseases of the bladder. These pills also help with medical symptoms such as
frequent nightly urination, urinary incontinence, and a symptom of an
overactive bladder.
Also, such
a drug could be used for other purposes that are not described in its main
instructions for use. These pills could lead to such allergic reaction as
difficulty breathing, swelling of the tongue, throat, intumescences of lips or
face, so it is very important to tell the attending doctor if the patient have
the following disease:
- Parkinson’s diagnosis,
- muscle problem,
- stomach upset,
- kidney disease,
- enlarged size of the prostate,
- diseases
of the liver.
Also, this pill
can harm the healthy ripening of the fetus inside the mother, so it is very
important to tell your attending doctor if you are pregnant. Ditropan is also
not recommended for breastfeeding women.
Use this
medicament as your attending doctor had recommended. Look at your prescription
and do not take more or fewer tablets per day. It is important to take the
medicine at a specific time without changing the schedule. Ditropan could be
taken with food or without it. Swallow the pill immediately, do not suck or
chew it.
This
medicine affects the smooth muscles of the abdomen and has an antispasmodic
effect. But there are no blocking effects in skeletal neuromuscular joints. The
drug is absorbed and excreted the body in halfway – it full time could be from
2 to 5 hours. Experts suggest that a special substance inside the tablet is
excreted through the liver because urine has its very low concentration.
