It is intended to treat nicotine addiction. However, before you start taking pills, you need to understand that nicotine addiction is largely a psychological addiction, and without the determination to quit smoking, the tablets themselves will not give the desired effect.
Indication for use
Wellbutrin (Bupropion) can be taken by almost all adults who have depression, anxiety problems and nicotine addiction.
Precautions
Wellbutrin (Bupropion) is not recommended to use if you have:
• hypersensitivity to any of the components of the medication,
• vascular disorders,
• therapy with medicines containing bupropion,
• a history of nervous bulimia (a sharp increase in appetite) or anorexia (significant weight loss),
• in the case of inhibitors (moderators) of monoamino oxidase (enzyme),
• pregnancy,
• lactation period.
Dose and usage
Wellbutrin (Bupropion) is released in form of 150 mg white, round, film-coated, tablets with line in the middle.
Wellbutrin is taken orally independently on meal time. The starting dose is 150 mg once a day. The full effect of Wellbutrin (Bupropion) like other antidepressants, may occur no earlier than a few weeks after starting treatment. Patients for whom a dose of 150 mg per day is insufficient may increase the dose to a maximum of 300 mg per day (150 mg twice daily).
Side effects
The use of Wellbutrin (Bupropion) most often causes adverse reactions such as: fever, pain in the chest, general weakness; heart rhythm disturbance, increased blood pressure, loss of consciousness; sleep disturbances, distracted attention, headaches, as well as spatial orientation disorder, depression, dizziness, increased irritability, anxiety, hallucinations, increased level of aggression are possible; weight loss; constipation, pain in the abdomen; the appearance of a skin rash, which may be accompanied by itching, increased sweating.
