General information:
Ventolin
is a prescription drug used to treat asthma attacks in patients 4 years and
older. Asthma is a long-term disease that causes breathing difficulties. Those
difficulties occur due to one of the components of asthma: inflammation
(swelling, mucus is being built up in the airways) and constriction of airway
(tightening of the muscles near the airway). Ventolin helps to prevent symptoms
like coughing, shortness of breath, wheezing.
The
Ventolin inhalation aerosol can be used with or without steroid treatment. The
drug belongs to a category of medications known as bronchodilators.These are
drugs that relax bronchial muscles. Albuterol works by opening breathing
passages and relaxing bronchial muscles.
Store at
room temperature between 20 and 25°C.
Directions for use:
Shake well
before using. Inhale the medication as instructed by doctor, usually every 4 to
6 hours. Dosage is dependent on your medical condition and response to
treatment.
If you are
using Albuterol to prevent asthma brought on by physical activity, inhale two
puffs 15 to 30 minutes before the exercise. Wait at least 1 minute between each
inhalation.

Precautions:

DO NOT increase the dose of the drug unless instructed by your

Limit alcohol beverages while taking the drug
