Elimite (Permethrin) is a medication that represents synthetic pyrethroids group, used mainly to treat infestation with Sarcoptes scabies and head lice. One of the advantages of Elimite (Permethrin) is eradication of nits, larvae and pubescent forms of head lice.
Indication for use
Elimite (Permethrin) Cream is prescribed for the treatment of the following diseases:
• Pediculosis of the scalp,
• pubic pediculosis (including nitrification).
• Scabies.
Precautions
Elimite (Permethrin) is not recommended to use if you have severe hypersensitivity (allergy) to the main or to one of the auxiliary components; pregnancy and period of lactation. The use of Elimite is not recommended for patients with asthma, obstructive bronchitis, including in the anamnesis, due to the risk of bronchospasm after inhalation of the drug.
Dose and usage
Elimite (Permethrin) 5% – 60mg smooth, light yellow substance with spirit odor in tube.
Apply the cream on the head using a cotton swab, rubbing the drug into the hair roots. After treatment, the head is covered with a scarf, and after 40 minutes, the medication is washed off with warm water with soap or shampoo. After washing, comb your hair with a frequent comb to remove dead insects. If live lice are detected 7 days after the use of the drug, re-treatment is recommended.
Side effects
Allergic reactions: skin rash, swelling. Local reactions: burning of the skin, passing after a few minutes.
