The
pills of Anafranil come in round or elongated shapes of white, yellow, pink or
blue-yellow colors depending on the dosage and the manufacturer.
The
usual dosages for one tablet, which contains clomipramine, are 25, 50 and 75
mg. This drug is a tricyclic antidepressant, similar in action to imipramine,
it is blocking more efficiently the reuptake of serotonin.
Pharmacological
use
Anafranil
is used to treat depressive states of a neurotic, endogenous, involutional,
reactive and organic nature. Besides, it is used in the treatment of depressive
syndromes that have arisen against the background of schizophrenia or provoked
by prolonged pain syndrome. Also, the drug has proven its effectiveness in the
treatment of personality disorders, panic attacks of fear, a chronic pain syndrome
in patients who have cancer, as well as patients suffering from migraine,
postherpetic neuralgia, rheumatism, peripheral nephropathy, catalepsy, and narcolepsy.
Anafranil is also used to prevent and treat migraine attacks.

This
medicine has a set of side effects for health if used any differently from
doctor’s orders. Side effects can be various, for example:
