Who can take Endep ( Amitriptyline )?
Pills can be taken by adults and in some cases by teenagers aged 16 to 18 years for depression.
Endep (Amitriptyline) is not recommended to use if you:
have had an experience of allergic reactionto amitriptyline in the past;
have a heart, liver or kidney problems;
have epilepsy;
pregnant or you are breastfeeding;
have suicidal ideation;
have diabetes;
any mental illness , for example schizophrenia
Dose and usage
Before taking this medication consult with your attending physician.
Take amitriptyline by mouth once a day before bedtime independent on mealtime.
Sometimes it can be prescribed to take lower dose of amitriptyline more frequently 2-3 times a day until you get used to pills.
Amitriptyline medicines can be of different doses: 10mg, 25mg and 50mg.
The dose of Amitriptyline for depression is 50 to 100mg a day. Teenagers may take lower dose of 25 to 50 mg a day.

10 mg – round blue pill, 25mg – round yellow pills, 50 mg- six-sided brown pills.
Side effects
As any others medications Amitriptyline can have in some cases side effects such as:
nausea,
vomiting,
constipation,
dry mouth,
weight gain,
drowsiness,
tiredness,
headache,
blurred vision,
decreses of sexual desire
Tell your doctor if you have some side effects or your condition worsens.
